Drizzle doesn’t dampen Hairy Molly

Drizzle doesn’t dampen Hairy Molly

Night 2 of this year’s event saw the balcony of Leander Club turned into a makeshift stage once again, with the audience congregating on the lawn with the idyllic view of the town over the river as a backdrop. With fire pits to keep them warm, they did not let the light drizzle dampen their spirits, boosted by the mince pies and mulled wine supplied by the hosts and the ale from Brakspears.

The night was a fundraiser for Valley Road Primary, supported by Mayor Kellie Hinton. After introductions from Richard Rodway, the Mayor made a heartfelt plea for everyone to dig deep for the school and dig deep they did. Spirits were kept high by the feel good Hairy Molly Barn Dance and Ceilidh band, with a fun mix of country songs.

Tim Coulson, headmaster at Valley Road, thanked everyone for coming, including the large number of volunteers from the school.
