Henley Choral Society at the River & Rowing Museum on the 5th Evening

Hard to believe that we are already in our 5th night of the Henley Living Advent Calendar, but already we have been treated supremely by the venues, partners, sponsors, and entertainers.

Last night's event was certainly no exception and it was wonderful to see so many people turning out to support the four charities.

Last night we met at the River and Rowing Museum along the edge of the River Thames, and home to the Wind in the Willows exhibition and a vast array of rowing and ocean rowing memorabilia. (For those of you interested in ocean rowing, then you might want to attend the River and Rowing Museum's coffee morning on the 13th December, 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. which is raising funds for the row2recovery team who are currently participating in the Talisker Atlantic Challenge.

Last night's partner was Sotheby's of Henley, who are also sponsoring the Henley Living Advent Calendar, along with CTC-Aspire (U. K.) Ltd. Towergate Insurance, Bremont Watches, and Best of Henley. Sotheby's provided wonderful mince pies and mulled wine, and the River and Rowing Museum donated some fantastic prizes for tonight's fundraising raffle, including a year's pass to the museum for four, and some fun Wind in the Willows characters.

With the audience in place, it was time for Sotheby's to introduce the evening's entertainment, the Henley Choral Society. The choir is very busy at the moment, and on Tuesday the 10th in order will be singing in their Christmas Concert at Saint Mary's Church with the Saint Mary's School Choir. The choir gave a fabulous performance of some different Christmas tunes, with the choir's founder Wendy conducting, and all the children gathered around joining in.

Tonight's Living Advent Calendar takes place at Boatique 96 on Friday Street, in partnership with The Anchor pub and restaurant, and prizes from Barrett & Coe photographers in Caversham and Simon Drew Art Gallery in Henley. Tonight night the Christmas lights will be switched on in the town, and there will be some late night shopping.
