Moving and freezing at Leander

The Tapestry Female Vocal Choir produced an atmospheric and moving performance on the balcony at Leander, overlooking a large crowd that had assembled in the garden in freezing conditions, with warm fire buckets and Brakspear beer for company.

After wowing the crowd with a moving rendition of Somewhere from Westside Story, the choir ended their set by inviting the audience to join in with them with In the Bleak Midwinter and Silent Night.

On a clear and still night, the setting was simply idyllic, assisted by more fine lighting work by Hugh Legh.

Richard Rodway, with a festively dressed young helper from the crowd, drew the raffle prizes kindly donated by Ashbridge Homes (champagne) and Leander Club (ladies ping umbrella, hippopotamus soft-toy and some pink socks!).

Next up and it’s on to Phyllis Court.
