Sadies sings high even from Delgate's upstairs window

Sadies sings high even from Delgate's upstairs window

Solo singer ‘Sadie’ performed out of the 18th Living Advent Calendar window at Delegate House on Hart Street.

Carolyn Molyneux of Delegate Conferencing Service had organised a fantastic spread of mulled wine, soft drinks, canapes, sausage rolls and doughnuts for the large audience, whilst Hugh Legh of HDL Audio Visual Services Ltd had festively illuminated the host venue as always. Oxford based solciitors Henmans Freeth kindly partnered for the evening.

Chair Richard Rodway opened festivities from the first floor window, acknowledging that he was precariously perched on the desk of financial advisor Milton Gordon, before Dion spoke to the audience about the important work undertaken by Regatta for the Disabled, one of the charities supported by the Living Advent, before introducing Sadie.

Sadie performed a number of uplifting contemporary classics and festive numbers including ‘Signed Sealed Delivered’, ‘Big Spender’ and ‘All I Want for Christmas’ before she was joined by fellow singer Julie for some further carols which they invited the audience to join in with, having distributed hymn sheets before the performance. At the end of the performance, the crowd demanded an encore and second performance of Ding Dong Merrily on High, and the singers duly obliged.

Carolyn thanked the large audience for attending and supporting the Living Advent, and Richard Rodway and Sadie then drew the raffle, distributing prizes donated by Carolyn Molyneux (large Lindt cracker & pannatone) and Brook House (Fur Throw).

Next up for the Living Advent is a visit to the River & Rowing Museum INSIDE.
