Upcoming talent takes a bow as the Youth Centre bows out

Kuryan Pereira treated us to a variety of her own compositions at an acoustic set at the Youth Centre. Music from the heart, and inspiring lyrics.

In the Groove Records were the partner for the evening, and Andy Tucker treated the waiting audience to some festive vinyl tunes on his turntables before Mayor Martin Akehurst welcomed Kuryan to the stage, at the half-way stage of the Living Advent.

The HOT Frog Café, based at the centre, treated the audience to pizza, quiche, spring rolls, mulled wine and pastries.

It being ‘Christmas Jumper Day’, festively attired chair Richard Rodway selected a kindred spirt from the audience to help him with the raffle, handing out prizes kindly donated by Loddon Brewery (a pack of beers, won by Mayor Akehust) and Councillor Elizabeth Hodgkin from the centre (a ‘surprise’ box, and hair straighteners and gadgets).
