Highlights

Day 23 of the Henley Living Advent took the event to the Ruinart room at the Hotel du Vin. The hotel very kindly stepped in to host at the last minute after adverse weather conditions made the scheduled performance in Falaise Square untenable.

A fundraiser for the Henley Music School, a large audience packed into the room, filling all of the available space. They were treated to cake and cookies supplied by the night’s partner Tesco.

Laura Reineke of the Music School welcomed the audience and introduced the night’s surprise performer, ukulele band “Pure Fluke”.

Their set included Steve Harley “Make Me Smile, Come Up And See Me”, Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black” and finished with a rousing rendition of the Pogues “Fairytale of New York” which the audience all joined in with.

Dave Pinder and Terry Wilson were performing for a second night in a row having been part of Lucie Henwood’s ensemble that performed on night 22.

“It was a really great performance tonight. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I am so pleased that we were able to get a crowd to see it having changed venue at such short notice” said Living Advent Chairman Richard Rodway. “Big thanks to Iain at the Hotel for being able to accommodate us and help us raise a good sum of money for the Henley Music School.”

After the performance Richard Rodway presided over the raffle with Mayor Julian Brookes
