Big Turnout For Finale

Big Turnout For Finale

Day 24 of the Henley Living Advent took the event to it’s habitual final destination, Saint Mary’s church in Hart Street.

A massive crowed filled the area in front of the church, treated to mince pies, and donating generously to the night’s causes, the 3 charities supported by Mayor Julian Brookes (Henley YMCA, Riverside Counselling and Nomad).

Led by Father Martyn, the choir of Saint Marys performed traditional carols including “Silent Night” and “While Shepherds Watched”. Hymn sheets had been handed out and the audience were invited to join in with the likes of “The First Noel” and “Oh Little Town Of Bethlehem”.

Monies raised on the night ensured that the event raised more for local good causes across the month than ever before, eclipsing the previous high set in 2016.

“Thank you to everyone for your spirit, enthusiasm and generosity” said event organiser Richard Rodway. “We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and look forward to doing it all again in 2017”.
