It’s Not Coming Ho Ho Home Then

It’s Not Coming Ho Ho Home Then

Day #10 saw the audience gather in the Menza Café at Henley Rugby Club. Henley Manor Care home had provided lots of delicious festive cakes and big screens were ready to show the epic England vs France game straight after the show, in the hope of making it a bumper celebration of a night.

The night’s supported charity was Parkinsons UK. At 6:15 p.m. as usual, Richard Rodway unveiled the night’s surprise performer. Habitual favourite 6 piece band Highly Strung with front man Ian Desmond on vocals treated the audience to hits including a tribute to the late Christine Vie of Fleetwood Mac with “Rhiannon”, the Stereophonics’ “Dakota”, a Ukraine themed “War is Over” by John Lennon and, with the big match close, Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline” to finish.

The night did not end the way the audience wanted it to of course, but good fun was had in the meantime, with another good sum raised for the charity.
