Rain Fails To Dampen Spirits

Rain Fails To Dampen Spirits

Night #18 was intended to be staged in Market Place, an extended set featuring 3 performers. The bad weather had forced the organisers to stage the second half of the show in the Town Hall. But when it came to setting up, the weather was so bad, the decision was made to take all 3 performers indoors. Impractical to stage them all in the main hall, George Campbell started prioceedings with an acoustic set on the mezzanine floor of the Town Hall, where audience congregated around him and on the stairs. They were treated to delicious sausage rolls and mulled wine, courtesy of the night's hosts The Old Bell of Bell Street. George's set comprised contemporary and festive classics such as Happy Together and Jingle Bells.

The audience were then ushered into the main hall where The Rupert House Chamber Choir performed on stage, followed by Steph Maxwell's Dancing Divas and Dudes.

The night was a fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House in Oxford, and the generous audience donated more than ever for a Living Advent night at the Town Hall, and one of the highest ever Living Advent nightly totals.
