Christ Church - Wednesday 21st

Highlights

Day 21 of the Henley Living Advent took the event into the main chapel of Christ Church for the first time.

A fundraiser for the Henley Youth Festival, event organiser Richard Rodway introduced 2 performers for the night who were in keeping with that general theme of local young performing arts talent.

Annabel Marlow emerged from the Advent door at the back of the stage accompanied by brother Toby. Annabel playing a ukulele, the duo performed “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlement” before Annabel went solo to perform two of her own compositions, Waiting for You and Emilia, as well as a cover of Funny Valentine. Toby then joined in with a version of Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas fused with Santa Baby.

The second performer of the night was then revealed, the children of Stagecoach Henley, High Wycombe and Marlow, who performed dance routines to the theme of Roald Dahl, and 11 year old Hannah Hobbs delivered a wonderful vocal performance with “Pure Imagination” from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

After the performance Mayor Julian Brookes, and Living Advent partner for the evening Philip Booth Esq of Philip Booth Estate agents, presided over the raffle, with an array of prizes donated by the Henley Youth Festival, Steph’s Dancing Divas and Dudes, The Treatment Rooms at the Red Lion hotel and Helen Maynard’s Henley Photography School. Refreshments were then served in the adjoining Christ Church centre

Night 22 now takes the Living Advent to Carolyn Molyneux’s Delegate House where fundraising will be for Regatta for the Disabled and Cannelle Beaute, also of Hart Street, will be making their partnering debut.
