Panto Takes Centre Stage

An excerpt from this year’s pantomime was the surprise act on night ten of the Henley Living Advent Calendar.

Guests on arrival with treated to warm festive cocktail and baked treats courtesy of the night’s partner The Henley Larder, before then taking their seats in the theatre. At 6:15 p.m. the cast of this year’s Kenton panto emerged, and the audience wholeheartedly joined in with the “oh no he’s not”, boos and cheers as prompted.

This year’s production of Jack & The Beanstalk, courtesy of Immersion Theatre, opened the previous evening and runs through to and including the 31st of December, 2023.

The panto cast took the audience participation to another level when character Widow Tritty Trott selected “Dave” from the front row of her the audience to be her husband, encouraging to call her “Ms Tritty is a Fitty… Gggrrrr” before escorting him to the stage to join the rest of the cast for the finale dance.

Event organiser Richard Rodway and Zoe Ferreira from the Henley Larder then presided over the raffle. The performance served as a fundraiser on this occasion for The Theatre charity itself, and raised £377, which is the most ever raised on a Living Advent Calendar visit to the theatre.
